iOS12 has been out for a few weeks now and is proving to be a big hit with most users. Here’s our iOS12 best features list for those of who haven’t yet upgraded or may be missing out on some great new features and functionality.
We had a straw poll of iPhone users around the office to see which features we thought were the best and/or most useful and here’s the results.
iOS12 feature list – top 10
- Improved battery life – maybe it’s due to streamlined background processes, but most of us have noticed improvements in battery life. I must say the battery life on my iPhone 8 was already good and a vast improvement on my previous 6s, but iOS12 seems to have boosted it further.
- Faster camera access – Apple claim up to 70% faster camera access and loading, and we tend to agree.
- Faster launching apps – again, Apple says that they launch faster and it has proved to be the case so far.
- Group FaceTime – up to 32 people can now be in a single call, we found this to be really cool.
- Screen Time usage info – although it’s not a feature that has changed my phone habits, it is an eye opener to see how much time I spend on social media and that I have turned my screen on 120 times in a day.
- Siri shortcuts and improvements – even “Hey, Siri” seems to be more robust and responsive!
- Password autofill – this has proved really useful.
- More battery info.
- New emoji’s.
- Photo search.
